Confidential Recovery CEO Discusses Veteran Hotel Voucher Program on Fox 5 KUSI San Diego

Confidential Recovery CEO Scott H. Silverman visited KUSI Fox 5 Morning News this week to discuss a positive development that is affecting San Diego's most vulnerable veterans.

Along with the positive news that  veteran homelessness is dropping approximately 25% in San Diego over the course of the last year, there is a pilot program to provide hotel vouchers to homeless veterans. District 5 Supervisor Jim Desmond is spearheading the program.

Scott was enthusiastic about the efforts, but pointed out that "[Housing is] half the solution, the other half is treatment, stability, overall mental health support. And, families need something different than single men or single women do." The good news is that the same program is trying to also secure funds for rental assistance, case management, and employment assistance.

You can watch the entire segment on the Fox 5  San Diego Website here.

Veteran Drug Rehabilitation in San Diego

If you know of a veteran in the San Diego area who is struggling with substance use, have them contact the team at Confidential Recovery, where we provide outpatient drug rehabilitation for veterans., including telehealth options.  If they are struggling with a “non-crisis” mental health issue, or just having a hard time getting by in civilian life, look up the Veterans Navigation Center, which is a San Diego non-profit that has veteran navigators that can help veterans access benefits and programs to help them get by.
