Confidential Recovery CEO Urges Change to Homeless Policy on KUSI San Diego News

Confidential Recovery CEO Scott H Silverman recently appeared on KUSI Good Morning San Diego  to discuss the long-standing and ever worsening homeless problem in San Diego and what might be done about it. In his words, "housing first" might not be the immediate best answer, because just giving someone housing doesn't address the underlying issues that caused them to become unhoused in the first place.

Scott discussed the need to treat this problem more like the crisis that it is and focus on interventions and education. He urged for more oversight for the funding that is being spent, as there has been billions of dollars earmarked for homeless initiatives, but unfortunately not enough positive outcomes. Scott also talked about the importance of monitoring the progression of homelessness and the results we are getting from our efforts.
