Pilots Treatment Program
At Confidential Recovery, we value a personalized, comprehensive, and effective approach to pilot wellness. Our goal is to provide a supportive continuum that that incorporates a consideration of physical, mental and cognitive health and promotes pilot vitality, mission readiness, flight-safety and protects the Federal Airspace.
About Our Pilots Program
We understand the particular challenges of being a pilot and the consequences of a wrong diagnosis. We promote recovery versus compliance and illuminate emotional “blind spots” to minimize the probability of relapse. By doing this we enhance recovery and help the aviator navigate the HIMS and FAA processes.
The Facts About Confidential Recovery’s Pilots Program:
- For many years we have successfully helped veterans and first responders return to work as soon as clinically indicated, cutting through red tape and indecision that needlessly slows down those ready to return to work
- We make our diagnosis based on scientific and regulatory guidelines of substance use AND other psychiatric ailments, allowing the treatment of the condition to happen sooner rather than later and ultimately shortening the wait time before the pilot can request Special Issuance.
- Our consulting neuropsychologist is HIMS trained/qualified and Aeromedical Psychology Section trained
- There is a sizable cadre of pilots in treatment with us at any one time, which provides the opportunity for genuine peer milieu.
- First Responders are abstinent from prescribed substances for the duration of their monitoring period in most cases
- We offer seamless aftercare follow-up for pilots in the San Diego area and referrals for those who live elsewhere.
- We offer monitoring for SSRI medications with psychiatry and neuropsychology per FAA regulations
Discreet, Structured, Clinically-Validated Outpatient Recovery
We are an outpatient program designed for working adults who are employed and live at home. We provide long-term, sustainable treatment for substance abuse disorders. Confidential Recovery is an excellent option for continued treatment and support once individuals have been stabilized in a detox or a residential treatment program.
Generally, our clients are high-functioning individuals who share the need for treatment in a confidential environment. We also service San Diego's veteran community.
From alcohol to opioids, our clients receive treatment tailored to their needs. We believe that “one size doesn’t fit all” when it comes to treatment approaches. Each individual will participate in the development of their own self-care plan, which is necessary for long-term sobriety and sustainable recovery.
