Scott H. Silverman on Detroit Morning News to Discuss the Addiction Epidemic

Ahead of his book "The Opioid Epidemic," Scott H. Silverman appeared on Fox 2 in Detroit to discuss addiction, the "pandemic within the pandemic."

Scott discussed the challenges that the pandemic have caused to those who struggle with a substance use disorder, as well as mental health issues like depression and anxiety. The isolation we are experiencing has lent itself to increased drinking and drug use, as well as the need to 'escape.'  Scott also talks about the three most important words someone needs to say (and often the hardest three): "I need help."

Scott found himself "hitting bottom" in 1984 and accepted that he needed help for his problem and pursued treatment and long-term recovery. After pursuing his own recovery, Scott dedicated his life to helping others who struggle with the same mental health and addiction issues that caused him so much pain.
